One piece of good news is that the appropriations challenges are reduced with both the President’s budget and Congressional interest are now much closer together. There are still challenges with slow processing by OMB and OHS of payments and approvals of changes in scope -- and the persistent workforce issues. But for the staff who work with families -- the work with families remains paramount. And working with families is what these classes are all about.
By enhancing your own wellness you become a stronger role model for parents. You can refresh your knowledge, skills and attitudes through engagement with faculty who provide family development classes for Head Start Family Workers through the California State University. (College credit is available.) These events are based squarely on the Head Start performance standards. We will review all ten of the PFCE framework goals and key elements of the relationship based competencies -- and talk about how you can make it all come together.
The Fall Institute workshops are three hours each day, with breaks, starting at 8:30 Pacific Time. Please share this with your colleagues and your Family Services Manager. This is a great “team re-builder” for a group of people from an organization. And it can also be an introduction and overview for new Family Workers.
The cost is $395 per participant.
You can register or request more information below and we will make sure to notify of you of the next institute.
When we have received and processed your registration, we will e-mail you additional information and the Zoom link.
